It’s great to be 1 of the 10 finalists of this year’s Singapore Blog Awards (Photography) again. I like the idea of competition. Recognition aside, I think it motivates me to come out with better contents. I’m really a lazy blogger, I have to say. And maintaining a blog takes a lot of discipline. I don’t know how long I will continue to do so, but being in a competition keeps me motivated, I guess.

1.    How do you feel about being one of finalists in Singapore Blog Awards 2012?

Definitely good! There are so many talented bloggers around and I’m really proud to be one of the finalists.

2.    When did you start blogging and what drew you to it? Where do you get inspiration for your blog content?

I started to shoot seriously in 2009 and I thought I need a platform to showcase my work. I love traveling and I want to keep a travel journal. So I launched a blog back then and started to post regularly. Though my blog is a photography blog, you won’t see much technical information about the photos posted over there. I don’t bother too much about the technical aspects in photography because there are so many websites out there that teach you everything you need to know about  cameras and lens. I draw inspiration from the places I visited, and the people I encountered. New places keep me excited, and every new encounters challenge my existing way of thinking. I like the way how photos manage to bring in new perspectives and evoke emotions. I want to share it. I think being curious, I mean a lot of it, really helps.

3.    How do you feel about the other Finalists in your category this year? How do you think you will fare compared to them?

Each photographer has his/her own unique perspective and I think every one of them is talented in his/her own way. I think we are all good for sure.

4.    Give a reason why readers should visit your blog and vote for you?

It’s all about being original and having passion in what I’m doing. I think my readers know it.
