(A Spectator at Mela Ground, Pushkar, India)
I have been shooting so many photos before but I’ve never paid any special attention when taking portraits. I never understand why photographers are so fascinated by portraits, till I saw her eyes in this shot. Though this portrait was taken slightly out of focus and I was also frustrated by the obscure caused by somebody’s hand, it is still one of my favourite portraits. I like the way she look at me. The face was full of expressions, and it was definitely a face with many untold stories. I stared at this photo for a very long time when I retrieved it from the memory card. I don’t know why. I felt like wanted to know more about her world, through her eyes.
I told myself that I would never ever take shooting portraits so lightly again!

I admitted I am that too, nv pay enough attention on taking portraits. Only Food drew my attention. That’s y I always kena scolded by ppl.
Haha! I guess we can only take good photos of stuffs that we are really interested in. If food is your cup of tea, focus on it!!!
erm…. food is always my interest though my weight and size do not allow to do so… hahahahaha…
Wow and I almost thought it’s that famous picture of the Afghan girl. Yours look very similar. Yes you’re right. Her face carries an untold story that we perhaps will never find out.
I haven’t reached that level yet, sadly! Steve McCurry’s blog link is placed under my blogroll. There are lots of amazing photos!!!!
Sometimes, picture creates an unfinished story and yet it’s best that you leave it that way…those eyes.
I guess so. But we are curious animals, don’t you think so????
